The VW sealed connector housings manufacturerd by FEP Fahrzeugelektrik Pirna GmbH are used for electrical connections between the harness and the various components in the car. In addition to the radial lip seal the male connector housing features a vertical sealing ring. This sealing ring dampens vertical vibrations and thus helps to prevend corrosion. They are adequate for underhood applications or applications in splash water zones. Terminals with size 2.8 mm can be used with the housings. To stop humidity comming in from the wire side of the connection system, single wire seals have to be crimpt with the terminals to the wire.
